Here we will discuss the different options available to you in Joomla with reference only to the Menus and their various sub-menus.
To access the menu manager roll your mouse "Menu" and then click on the menu you want to manage. Most sites use the "mainmenu" as the default left or right side menu.
Now you are in the "Menu Manager" denoted by the title just above the list of items in that menu (however it may be empty if you didn't not install the sample data during setup).
Notice the main icons on the upper right hand side of the page, these are the options available to you in the menu manager.
To create a new menu link click the "NEW" icon and you will get a page similiar to this:
We're going to add a menu link to a static content page so select the "Link - Static Content" link or check the radio button next to that selection and click the "NEXT" icon up top.
Now we see more of Joomla's genius...only the static content that has already been created will be available to link to this menu item. If your page doesn't have any selections you probably need to create a static content page first, go to Content >> Static Content and create your page there.
Type a name or title for your menu link and any other parameters you feel like adjusting, I usually leave these alone unles I'm making category or section pages that require additional things to make them work correctly.
Once you have your title click the "Save" icon in the top right hand menu to make your link live.
NOTE! ALWAYS CHECK TO BE SURE YOUR LINK IS WHERE YOU PUBLISHED IT, GO TO THE FRONT OF YOUR SITE,
www.yoursite.com AND LOOK! ALWAYS!
